If you’re looking for a solid burger and don’t feel like cooking, Johnny’s is a solid option.  Tune in to the game, have a bite with the family, or go for a beer with friends.
Rich and I met up with friends for a couples’ dinner.  We enjoyed fresh air dining and tiki torchlight before the rain came down.  The ambiance of the outdoor seating area reminded me a little of Mighty Joe Young’s in its heyday, although the resemblance does not extend to the inside, which is more like your average sports bar.
Rich and I shared teriyaki wings as an appetizer.  They were meaty, well done, and nicely flavored.
Our friends, who live in the area, enjoyed a buffalo chicken salad and buffalo chicken wrap served with steak fries respectively.  (I’d like to publicly thank them both for their patience with my perpetual photo-snapping.)
Rich had a seafood marinara pasta:
My veggie burger was served on wheat toast with sweet potato fries, cole slaw, fresh burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, and red onion), and a pickle spear.  I’d swear the veggie burger was the same Dr. Praeger’s variety I buy in Trader Joe’s, but who knows? The sweet potato fries were crisp and generously portioned.
Johnny’s, which has changed names several times, has a solid bite to eat in a nice, local spot.  It isn’t gourmet dining, and it isn’t your average pub grub.  Perfect for a good meal before a movie or to watch the game.  That said, the prices were a little steep for “a good meal.”  I’d be more likely to go back if the cost matched the quality or if they wowed me with something I couldn’t just as easily whip up myself.
